Construction Notice – Noise Variance (Jul 21, 2022)

Posted On: Monday July 25, 2022

July 21, 2022

Dear Neighbours,

PCL is notifying residents of a seismic footing concrete pour on behalf of the New St Paul’s Hospital and Health Campus project located at 1002 Station Street. PCL Construction as the General Contractor will be managing and overseeing this project, with Darrin Joss (PCL) as the Site General  Superintendent.

The City of Vancouver has granted a noise variance notification for this work on: Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 6:30 am

What is occurring on site?
We will be pouring a seismic footing on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022, starting at 6:30am. Due to the size of the concrete pour and ongoing cement supply shortage issues, this concrete pour is required to take place early in the morning. The noise from the pour will be isolated to a single concrete pump as well as concrete trucks.

How are we reducing the impact to neighbours?
We apologize for any inconvenience. PCL takes considerable effort while organizing construction activities to ensure the neighbourhood endures the least amount of impact. Efforts to delay concrete truck washout times and pump set up will take place to help mitigate noise.

Should you have any questions or concerns, use the Project Hotline at (604) 335-2669 to leave a message and PCL will return your message within 24 hours.

Yours Truly,
Sophie Plain, PCL Marketing Student
